Za'atar is a Middle Eastern finishing blend added at the end of cooking. Each country has its own variation. The recipe varies from regio to region with ratios changing considerably. Our version has hyme, cumin, coriander, sumac, sesame seeds, Aleppo pepper and oregano. It is generally mixed with olive oil and spread on pita/flatbread. We like to put it on flatbread with a little oil and put it in the oven to crisp it up as a delicious snack
Suggested uses: It works well on grilled fish, meat and vegetables (especially potatos) and can be sprinkled on salads
